Task
A measuring device manufacturer recorded an increase in complaints regarding incorrect measurements from a specific type of device. The question needed to be clarified as to whether this increase was due to a production error or could be explained by statistical fluctuations in natural causes of error, such as operating errors. To this end, the measurement results and log data stored on the devices subject to complaint were used, along with the associated complaint reports.
