Engineering knowledge makes the difference!

AI is a tool. Engineering knowledge makes the difference!

Artificial intelligence can do many things today: write texts, generate code, analyze data. What she can't do is really understand a physical system. This is evident every day, especially in the engineering world. Models have to be validated, boundary conditions set correctly and results critically questioned.

And that's exactly where the difference between "somehow works" and "works reliably" arises.

What makes us special in the age of AI?

  • Sound understanding of physics
  • Many years of experience in simulation and modeling
  • an eye for the reality behind the data

Because in the end, it's not about whether a model looks good, but whether it works in practice.

Deep Learning in Action

Last week, our colleague Yvonne Rippers gave a presentation at MathWorks' AI Day Dresden titled "Deep Learning in Action – Annotating Quasi-Periodic Signals with MATLAB". The focus was on a project on robust heartbeat annotation in MechanoCardioGrams, in which classical machine learning approaches and deep learning were combined to robustly annotate complex and pathological signals.

Many thanks to MathWorks for the invitation and the wonderful exchange during the event.

Bug found. Comma fixed. Registration is open again!

Thanks to an attentive customer, we discovered a small but effective glitch in our training registrations yesterday. Cause?

A single comma!

The good news: Our website designer quickly identified and fixed the problem. Registration for our training courses is now working smoothly again.

Here are our upcoming dates:

📅 Introductory Seminar – Sequential Mode (3 days) April 22 - 24, 2026
📅 Advanced Seminar – Non-Sequential Mode (3 days) 06 - 08 May 2026
📅 Seminar: Tolerance Modelling (2 days) 18 - 19 March 2026
📅 Focus Seminar: Multiconfigurations & Complex Optimizations (1 day) March 20, 2026

👉 Register now – this time without a tripping point 😉And thanks again for the hint! We are always happy to receive feedback!

Happy New Year 2026!

Last year we were able to show again what makes a well-rehearsed superhero team: precise analyses, confident modelling, lightning-fast problem solving and, of course, the ability to remain calm even in turbulent project phases.

We wish everyone a happy and successful new year!

Last Chance

Our popular Zemax OpticStudio focus seminars in Berlin are just around the corner — and there are still a few spots available!

November 25–26: Tolerance Modeling (Tolerance types and descriptions in accordance with DIN ISO 10110, “Default Tolerances,” types of tolerance analysis, compensators, error statistics, and tolerances & optimization)

November 27: Multi-Configurations and Advanced Optimizations (Creation of multi-configuration systems using the Multi-Configuration Editor, optimization of multi-configuration systems, modeling of thermal behavior, multi-configurations for optimizing tolerance stability)

Both training sessions will take place in person, in German, in the heart of Berlin (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

Food and refreshments will of course be provided 🍎 🥗 ☕
